Darcy Richardson
Owner & Guide
Darcy Richardson is a lifelong angler and a true expert in the art of fly fishing. Based in Fernie, British Columbia, he has over two decades of experience navigating the pristine waters of the Elk River and its tributaries. Darcy has honed his skills in catching cutthroat, bull trout, and other native species that call these waters home.
Darcy’s journey into fly fishing began as a 10-year-old borrowing his Dad’s fly rod for the afternoon. Catching his first wild rainbow trout that afternoon changed everything. Spending time on the water in beautiful places became a way of life, fueled by a deep appreciation for the delicate balance of the ecosystems supporting this beloved sport.
As a guide, Darcy combines technical expertise with an approachable teaching style, making him equally adept at mentoring beginners and challenging seasoned anglers. His vast knowledge of the local terrain, hatches, and river conditions ensures that every outing is a memorable adventure. Beyond the catch, Darcy emphasises the importance of conservation, practising and teaching catch-and-release techniques to preserve the beauty and vitality of the region’s waterways.
Lost Creek Angling Co. was founded in 1995 by Bill and Norma Wilcox. Bill’s passion for discovering hidden gems led him to the perfect site for our Wigwam camp. With a vision to create something truly special on this remarkable river, he embarked on a 30-year journey of adventure and dedication.
Today, I am honoured to carry on the legacy as the new owner of Lost Creek Angling Co. and to continue this incredible adventure into the future.
